Most solid surface products are 100% acrylic. No matter what you’re designing, solid surface can be used to your own imagination from countertops, shelving, and even furniture. It’s also often used as shower surrounds. Because of the product’s makeup, sinks are undermounted with no lips or gaps as well as no visible seams. Backsplashes can be coved to have the look that the countertop is all one piece, easy to clean with no seams. There are also an abundance of edge profiles to choose from.

What you should know:

Solid surface products are stain resistant to most everyday stains. It’s easy to clean and is non-porous. As a result, it will not promote growth of mold, mildew or bacteria, making it an ideal product for kitchens and baths.

Caring for solid surface products:

Normal cleaning only requires a damp cloth and a mild cleanser such as Ajax or Comet. If you do use a mild abrasive as mentioned, we suggest you clean the whole countertop in a circular motion to maintain uniformity.

A few common sense precautions include not placing hot pots or pans directly on the countertops. Extensive heat from something such as a crockpot may also cause the tops to yellow or even crack over time. Always use a cutting board or trivet.

Spills and stains like Kool-aid, tea or even food dye can be removed with full strength bleach followed by a general cleaner flushed with water. Do not use straight bleach on a countertop for more than 5 minutes. Cigarette burns, nicotine stains or scorch marks can be removed using an abrasive cleaner or buff in a circular motion with a Scotch Brite pad to remove.
